Free Music Monday Teen Daze Treten

After arriving as an acolyte of 2009's summer of chillwave, Vancouver producer Teen Daze has grown slowly more spacey, sonic, and strange; washed-out polaroids and beach-holiday nostalgia trading in for synthesized soundscapes of imaginary retrofuturist utopias and stark space-travel landscapes.

In the past two years, Teen Daze (yes, he has no biographically-denoted real name, though rumor goes his mama calls him Jamison) has turned out a crazy-prolific run of EPs and full-lengths, as well as doing fine work with solo projects Little Chords and Two Bicycles. But the May-due All of Us, Together, is being billed as Sir Daze's first-ever proper album, for what that's worth.

As in advance single, "Treten" stretches out soundtrackist, its waves of wafting synths and slippery sine-waves sounding suitably sci-fi; like a seven-minute bliss-out in a sonic dream of zero-gravity, as rendered in 8-bit graphics.
