Carrie Brownstein to Pen Her Memoir

Carrie Brownstein —long-time Sleater-Kinney guitar-slinger, current Wild Flag leader, co-creator of satirical sketch-comedy show Portlandia— is about to add another string to her bow: published author. According to a lil' paper called The New York Times, Riverhead Books will publish Brownstein's memoir; adding Brownstein to a recent lineage of indie-rockers (Dean Wareham, Joe Pernice, Kristin Hersh) who've put pen to paper for Penguin.

Thus far, the memoir has no title nor publication date, but it will indeed be about Brownstein's life as lived through rock'n'roll; largely centred on The Sleater-Kinney Years. Brownstein's name will grace another book before then: Portlandia: A Guide for Visitors arrives November 20, serving as a semi-satirical guide to the hipster mecca of Portland, Oregon, and serving as a printed companion to the beloved sketch-comedy series.

If that's not enough Carrie B for you, find me comparing her to her Sex and the City namesake in a pretty-recent Wild Flag story in The Age.
